Life on Ubuntu is a site for tips, tricks, shortcuts, and general information for software engineers, developers, and network administrators.

I’m a bit new to Linux and Ubuntu, so the primary focus is on Ubuntu and some items will seem trivial to more experienced folks. But my thought is that if I had to figure it out, so does someone else. And hopefully, writing about it will help someone else find the answer a bit more quickly.

Since my development box is a windows laptop — I run Ubuntu on VMware on my laptop — I also include tips for windows or other tools and software that I use in either Ubuntu or Windows.
